Default A monk hero question...

For a pure healing prayers monk, my Dunkoro, should I use either Healer's Boon or Word of Healing? He has 14 healing prayers and 12 divine favor.

[WoH]

On side note, your hero is much stronger is he is healing/protection hybrid, and WoH is currently elite of choice for that as well.

Agreeing with zwei2stein, a healing and protection in a hybrid build is definitely the way forwards. That way, if you have 2 hero monks, there will be much greater coverage of Aegis, since both of them will be able to use it at a decent spec.

For a general outline of a typical hero monk hybrid build see this thread, Section 8, F.A.Q. #1.

I use WoH on most of my hero monks, although a Monk/Rit hero with a Smiting Prayers/Restoration build is a nice diversion from that.

WoH or HB are both great on heroes. I tend to use HB on my monk hero if i want full heal, and i use WoH if i want a hybrid. Depends what i'm doing but most of the time i use this build.

[HB Interrupt;OwUTMwGDVKuqB83JjY6LDY0BNCA]

HP - 12+1+1
DF - 10+1
Insp - 8

The heals are unconditional and spammable (one thing heroes love to do is spam skills) and the interrupts provide some energy management and strong spell interrupts which is it's own protection from enemy nukes. What better way to prevent getting nuked by something like Savannah Heat than to stop it from being cast in the first place? You could even put [leech signet] in there instead of the rez if you were feeling confident.

For a WoH build i'd usually go for a hybrid setup. Something like this.

[WoH Hybrid;OwUUMsG/S4RaE/ONgBE1DTfbaZAA]

HP - 12+1+1
Prot - 9+1
DF - 7+1
Insp - 6

I'd drop the rez because without HB they take too long for a monk to safely cast. Leave the rezzing to another character. I still take an interrupt simply for the protection value of stopping spells, and although a single interrupt on a hero isn't exactly reliable it still functions as energy management and can still stop that one big spell from hitting.

I use WoH mostly, but from time to time I'll bring LoD since they buffed it for PvE.

HB is bad. always. a high spec heal already heals for enough. no reason for wasting your elite to keep bars totally full. WoH is better in every situation.

also, hybrids are more efficient when you are already running a 2-monk backline.

Would this also apply to a WoH Hybrid Monk and Sabway's MM build which includes Aegis and Protective Spirit? When you say "will be able to use it at a decent spec", do you mean they'll cast Aegis one after the other instead of casting the second Aegis over the first Aegis? If so, would "Protective Spirit" also apply, or having 2 Protective Spirits would be overkill?

Second question, if I have a WoH Hybrid Monk and Sabway's MM, would [Dwayna's Sorrow] on the monk be a good complement to the minion master? I am always skeptical of hero synergy, especially if it means........................ teamwork.

Offnote: Did they changed Dwayna's Sorrow? It looks different?

If one hero casts Aegis, the other shouldn't until the enchantment falls off and you're still taking block-able damage, I think. Sometimes they both cast it at the same time by fluke, but, if you have a copy on a WoH monk and one on your Necro then crack on. 2 copies of Aegis provide pretty decent coverage. As for Protective Spirit, I would suggest it depends what you're fighting. I have recently taken to giving Protective Spirit to another profession (like a Necro) and leaving my WoH Monk with less expensive spells. I think if you feel you need the extra PS coverage then go for it, otherwise, stick in a "kill faster" skill.

If you feel you can fit Dwayna's Sorrow on the Monk bar then the Monk should use it on Minions just the same as a Minion Master.

The revamped Unyielding Aura can be used instead of HB - frees up a slot on your bar as it has a built in rez while it boosts the amount of healing your hero's spells do.

Until they nerf it, that is... which is likely.

WoH hybrids are very good, though!

UAura gives a HERO one less pip of energy regen.

Not worth it in my opinion.

Word of Healing outweighs it heavily in Hero Builds.

[[word of healing] is much better than [[healers boon] for a monk hero.

And I would also recommend using a Hybrid Monk since those tend to be much better for heroes.
